Part 3 : ADDING THE LAYOUT


As we already determine the structure, we then proceed to the layout stage. This is one of the crucial stage of building website especially before you decide which tool you gonna use. As for me it’s always either Flash or Dreamweaver. In this case, I’m using Flash.

So below is the layout that emerge from the structure which has been divided into 3. The first part is the main navigation where I place the branding site logo, some highlight picture of the site and most importantly is the button for the first navigation level. Usually this will be the permanent part which will not affected by browsing event.

The second part or the layout is in the space between the left and right , meant to be the second navigation level area. For example if the first navigation level is ARTWORKS, so the second navigation level would be the all listed projects. If the first level navigation is FRIENDS, so the second navigation level would be the listed name of the cronies.

The third part of the layout is the main content area where all the result of the navigation event occurs. The size of the area is slightly bigger than other to accommodate the height and width of the content.

Bear in mind that all of this process (structure and layout) can be proceed after we have finally came out with the flowchart of the content and concept or else we are wasting effort and time.

Of course in this context, I’m explaining the skin that has been rendered from the soul.
